The Importance of Creative Community in a Time of Flux
Wed 28 Oct 2020, 7–8.15pm

Does longevity of artistic practice help or hinder when things are tough?

How can the experience of mutual support be shared inter-generationally?

Who is out there for us? What is the shape of our community?

Is this a time to explore new kinds of partnerships between artists and venues?

--

Experienced creative practitioners Ghislaine Boddington, Shobana Jeyasingh, Richard Layzell, Rosemary Lee, Graeme Miller and Errollyn Wallen share their thoughts on how they, as creators, define a community. Together they pioneered 'practice as research' collaborative dialogues through ResCen at Middlesex University where they were research associate artists for twenty years.

This online event will include short presentations from each of the practitioners followed by questions from those attending and open discussion. Chaired Lauren Wright, Programme Director at Siobhan Davies Studios.
