Siobhan Davies returns to perform her solos from Cunningham Centennial Solos, previously premiered at the Barbican last April.
Alston At Home 2019 is an evening that glances over its shoulder at 50 years of The Place but emphasises the creative output which is still going strong today. These evenings are always special, but this year even more so as it is Alston’s fond farewell to his artistic home of fifty years.
Included in the programme alongside Davies’ performance are extracts from dances Alston made as early as 1970, as well as a brand new work performed by students of London Contemporary Dance School.
Elly Braund will also take stage to perform Merce Cunningham solos, and you will have the chance to see Martin Lawrance’s recent exhilarating Detour, an Alston classic, Red Run (1998) and the intricate Isthmus (2012).
Join Siobhan Davies and Richard Alston in a post-show discussion at The Place on Thursday 28th November.
